Adventure Details
We will be spending 12 days getting to know some of the rich history, food and entertainment culture, & natural beauty of Egypt by diving into some of its most breathtaking historical sites, beautiful locations, iconic culinary establishments and unforgettable scenes beauty that this amazing country has to offer.
Over our 12 days we will be going on a series of food, culture and adventure related excursions to some of Egypt’s most popular locations and establishments. Each day will be dedicated to various aspects of Egypt’s vibrant culture. We will be exploring Egypt's food scene and extensive culinary histoy in immesive and interactive ways. We will take part in some of the cultural history and deep mysteries that the country has to offer, as we tour the Giza Pyramids Complex on horse or camel back, visit the multiple Egyptian Museums, and stroll through the ancient alleys of the oldest and largest open-air bazaar/market place in North Africa: Khan Il-Khalili. (Over 1100 years old!)
In Luxor and Aswan we will explore ancient ruins of Karnak and Luxor, wander the colorful tombs at the vally of the kings, discover the mysteries of some of egypt's less known but equally immpresive historical sites, float down the Nile at sunset, and enjoy the lush green surroundings of the south of Egypt.
In Dahab we will be blown away by the power of the desert and the beauty of the Red Sea yet also reeled in by its mellow romantic ambiance as you look upon the clearest night skies you have ever seen... many travelers plan a few nights in this region and instead extend their stay for weeks.
Day 1: Egyptian cuisine day and pyramid tour. This day will be the authentic local cuisine day and the pyramid complex tour. We will have breakfast at Zooba, a light lunch or a roof top overlooking the pyramids, and then dinner at Abou El Sid where they make some of the best classic Egyptian dishes in an authentic and beautifully decorated environment. The main adventure on this day will be the pyramid tour. We will also head down to the Nile for a sunset sail on a traditional mono sail Egyptian sailboat called a Felucca, followed by drinks/night cap at a Rooftop Bar.
Day 2: High end restaurant day and the Museums. On this day will be exploring the more high-end aspects of Cairo and see what the city has to offer in the way of international Cuisine. We will begin the day with breakfast at PAUL, then have a light lunch in between the museums, followed by dinner at KAZOKU, then drinks/night cap at The Kempinski Nile Rooftop Bar. The main adventures of the day will be the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities & The Museum of Egyptian Culture.
Day 3: Street-Food Day and Khan Il-Khalili. On this day we will explore the abundant street food of Cairo, from falafel sandwiches and shawarmas to the Egyptian national dish Khoshari at some of our most loved and most delicious locations around the city. We will begin by having breakfast at Abo Ahmed some of the best falafels you will ever have, then lunch at Khoshari Abou Tarek, and dinner at Abu Haider the best Egyptian style shawarma in town. Our main adventure will be wandering the shops and stalls of Khan Il Khalili Market, the largest and oldest continuous use open air market in Africa.
Day 4: We will be traveling down south to Luxor by plane this day. After arrival we will take some time to settle in and re-center at our villa, after which we will enjoy a home cooked meal by your Guide/Chef.
Day 5: We will be doing the West Bank of Luxor this day, Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple,
the Colossus of Memnon. Then we will eat at Memnon restaurant in the evening and hang out around the pool at the villa in our down time or wander into the small town nearby.
Day 6: We will wake up early this day for a hot air balloon ride at sunrise over Luxor. Then after we will do the east bank of Luxor on this day. We will head by boat to Karnak Temple, then Banana Island for lunch, then a sunset float down the Nile to Luxor Temple for dusk. Then in the evening we will head to wolf restaurant for an amazing dinner.
Day 7: On this day we head north to some of the oldest and most intact temples in Egypt the Dendara and Abydos temples. Then dinner at a very special local establishment near the temples.
Day 8: On this day we head south to Aswan. On the way we will make stops at the ruins of Kom Ombo Temple and the Temple of Horus at Edfu. Once we arrive we settle in and then head to a Nile side dinner
Day 9: On this day we will wake up in Aswan and go visit Philea Temple of Isis, after which we will leave Aswan by plane and fly into Sharm el Sheikh airport, where we will take a car toward our destination, Dahab. Dahab is an Egyptian resort town between the desert of the Sinai Peninsula and the Red Sea. It's known for its sheltered sandy beaches, clear waters and coral reefs. The promenade is filled with bars, shops and restaurants. To the Northwest of the town is world famous dive site The Blue Hole and also the Three Pools. Once we settle in, we will go down and snorkel on the beach, then in the evening we will head to the best seafood restaurant in town! We will get to know each other, and settle into our accommodation and get to know the area and what we will be doing. Once settled we will then explore the area, then have a wonderful dinner made by Chef Akram.
Day 10: This day is a full day boat ride and snorkeling trip on the Red Sea to Ras Mohammad national park! We will be picked up at 8 am for this Snorkeling trip to Ras Mohammed. We will Travel from Dahab to Sharm then to Ras Mohamed National Park by boat, where You will be able to enjoy some of the best snorkeling and diving locations in the world, offering an unparalleled diversity of marine life under the water and panoramic views of both Egypt and Saudi Arabia while above water. We will Explore several unique locations within the park and spend the day snorkeling, swimming and relaxing on the boat. An open buffet lunch will be served on board. We will have a barbecue and ice cream together with soft drinks. Also, we offer one extra stop if the weather is good at a hidden island in the middle of the boat ride, between the National Park and the Red Sea, where you can snorkel and get a tan. After which we will head down to dinner on the Beach, before heading in for the night.
Day 11: We will wake up and have breakfast, then (dependent on the season) we will either leave at 9 am for our overnight Bedouin hiking and camping adventure (fall through spring) or our overnight at Ras Sheitan Bedouin beach camp snorkeling and wadi wishwash visit (summer).
(Sept-May) At the overnight desert hiking and camping adventure, We will learn how the Bedouin live day to day, and sleep and eat out under the desert stars next to our cozy fire and BBQ at the base of a cliff in the mountains. We will hike up ancient, water carved ravines and scope out some rock art left by the Essenes over 3500 years ago. This is the one camping experience you will never forget.
(Jun-Aug) On the beach camp overnight, we will also learn all about how the Bedouins spend their summer months down by the sea, and we will explore some of the more pristine less known reefs in the area, be ready to experience beauty on an incredible scale!
You'll be blown away by the power of the desert and the beauty of the Red Sea yet also reeled in by its mellow romantic ambiance as you look upon the clearest night skies you have ever seen... many travelers plan a few nights in this region and instead extend their stay for weeks.
Day 12: We will spend morning of the last day in the desert then head to St. Catherine's Cathedral at the foot of Mount Sinai where we will hike up for sunset to see the spectacular view, the famous site where Moses encountered the burning bush. Or just meditate on the top of the powerful crystal mountain. After which we will make our journey back the airport to catch our flight back to cairo and spend our last day together winding down and enjoying an amazing last dinner to end our adventure.
